Mental Health Awareness

Mental health has been defined by WHO (1999) as a state of well-being in which the individual realizes his or her own abilities, copes with the normal stresses of life, works productively and fruitfully, and makes contributions to the community. Mental health is considered the foundation for well-being and effective functioning for an individual and for a community. A community of mentally healthy individuals is therefore empowered, productive, and resilient. Promoting mental health covers a variety of strategies, which aims to have positive impact on mental health. It involves actions that create living conditions and environments to support mental health and allow people to adopt and maintain healthy lifestyles. This includes programs and policies that aim to foster individual and community mental health towards healthy living. The connection between chronic noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) and mental health problems has been shown to be bi-directional. Chronic NCDs can lead to certain mental health issues just as mental illness can also contribute to development of chronic NCDs. - Promoting Mental Health and Wellness...

Leadership Training 2019

Leadership training bridges the gap between the type of organizational culture leaders think they are creating and the type of culture they want to create. By introducing leadership and management training programs, leaders will receive feedback on how they are affecting subordinates and what actions and steps can be taken to address areas that need instantaneous attention. Understanding how actions affect others that rely on them, directly and indirectly, is the key difference that is incorporated in effective leaders. Leadership training and development increases their own perspective of how influential they can be and the effects that such influence can cause on the overall culture. Evaluating the effectiveness of leadership helps leaders identify strategies and techniques that can be employed to encourage the durable effectiveness, performance, and productivity of the organization and its members. Management training provides feedback that managers can turn into immediate actions. Just as important as knowing and understanding their weaknesses, great leaders also recognize their strengths. Leadership training provides...

Bible Quiz Bee

"I have hidden your Word in my heart that I might not sin against you." "How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to your Word." "Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path." (Psalm 119:11, 9, 105) The goals of the Bible Quiz Bee is to challenge youth to know, study, and apply the Word of God to their hearts and lives. Competition is a great vehicle to motivate study. Group and individual study is a tremendous boost to friendships, fellowship, discipleship, and accountability. Having "secreted" God's Word in one’s heart and mind provides the opportunity to "shine as lights in a dark world." It is not to focus on the competition nearly as much as on the practical value and life ministry enhancement that is the result of knowing and applying the Word of God. ...
